Google Mobile Interstitial Ads Update will Come on Today 10th Jan

Google announced way back in August 2016 that on Jan 10, 2017 they will launch a new search algorithm penalty, to demote mobile pages that have "intrusive" interstitial that get in the users way. So today that day has come and all those website's where a mobile user is finding hard to read the content due to different kind of popup ads will no more stand's high on Google Platform.

Here are some of the examples shared by Google, which type of Interstitial ads will come under this update:

  • Showing a popup that covers the main content, either immediately after the user navigates to a page from the search results, or while they are looking through the page.
  • Displaying a standalone interstitial that the user has to dismiss before accessing the main content.
  • Using a layout where the above-the-fold portion of the page appears similar to a standalone interstitial, but the original content has been inlined underneath the fold.
